An attractive hand-painted wooden bowl with stylised floral decoration, monogrammed to the base and dated 1925. The piece has a dark painted band, decorated with flowers, foliage and berry motifs in soft blues, pinks and greens.
Likely British Arts & Crafts period, probably the work of an individual craftsperson or small workshop rather than a factory-made piece.
Condition: age-related surface wear, rubbing and small paint losses, including a small area of loss to the internal painted decoration (see images). Structurally sound and highly decorative.
